Richard S. Foster

Known for his outstanding contributions to the world of residential development, Dick Foster and his company, Baymark Construction Corp., have become synonymous with exceptional community design and development.

Since its inception in 1980, Baymark Construction has received numerous awards for its outstanding residential designs. Foster himself has earned an indelible reputation as a true visionary in his field.

It's no surprise that in 2003, Bay Creek was chosen as one of "America's 100 Best Master-Planned Communities" by Where to Retire magazine in their prestigious biennial ranking. West Neck, another Baymark Community, was also honored with this recognition. That means two out of five Virginia communities recognized were Baymark communities.

In addition to his keen sense of development, Foster is actively involved in numerous civic organizations. From Hope Haven Children's Home, a non-profit organization devoted to the future of less fortunate children, to the Urban Forest Council of Virginia, Foster continues to share his philosophy with all walks of life. He is one of the founding fathers of The 500 Year Forest, a dedicated effort to preserve our nation's woodlands for a minimum of twenty generations, demonstrating once again that his commitment to our nation's land and its people is of paramount importance in his own life. In addition, Foster previously has served as a board member of Virginia Wesleyan College, Eastern Virginia Medical School, and The Virginia Marine Science Museum.

It's this same exacting detail and commitment to a vision that follows Foster in each of the communities he creates.
